Day 8: How do you prep for each session? (Archive)

Day 8: How do you prep for each session? (Archive) Using my Campaign World Tree method for planning a new campaign, session prep is the last stage of the process. Using the conflcit/s that I’ve decided to explore as a frame, I begin to plot out a few options as to how the PCs might interface with the NPCs through various scenes and encounters. I also begin to consider a new element at this stage: location. When I was planning the first session of my Savage Elder Scrolls campaign, I had a sense of the classes and races my players had chosen, which is to say, they were wildly divergent. Taking a cue from the...

Wild Card Creator: Go for the Ace and Raise

Wild Card Creator: Go for the Ace and Raise $400 dollars and 4 Days left to hit the $8k stretch goal. Come on guys, let’s do this and make my Android a little bit happier! Wild Card Creator by Will Herrmann “More fully-integrated and streamlined than online Savage Worlds Character Generators, less expensive than having to add on multiple settings piecemeal, and compatible across Windows, Mac and Linux (with tablet functionality as a stretch goal), the Wild Card Creator is a golden addition to the Savage product lines and hopefully will be here to stay.” Read...

Kickstarter: Wild Card Creator

Kickstarter: Wild Card Creator I have to admit that I know the designer personally (he succeeded me as president of the Wittenberg Role-playing Guild and is an excellent addition to the table as both a GM and player), but even so his latest project is just plain awesome. More fully-integrated and streamlined than online Savage Worlds Character Generators, less expensive than having to add on multiple settings piecemeal, and compatible across Windows, Mac and Linux (with tablet functionality as a stretch goal), the Wild Card Creator is a golden addition to the Savage product lines and hopefully...

Wild Cards for Savage Elder Scrolls

Wild Cards for Savage Elder Scrolls On Friday my brothers, Eric and I started fooling around with character creation for the Savage Worlds tabletop conversion of the Elder Scrolls games, and last night after running the SIFRP one-shot, “Wedding Knight,” Elise and Pam drafted some of their own. It seems that Bosmer archers are pretty popular, as well as Khajiit rogues, as we’ve had two of each already. Eric began drafting his two-fisted, ambidextrous Redguard fighter with telekenesis for good measure in his attempt to “break” the game, but I’ve been working on...

The Wild Hunt: Reloaded

The Wild Hunt: Reloaded When we finally finished rolling out a Huckster, Mad Scientist, Ranger and Sharposhooter I found myself without any Deadlands scenarios to run, having taken internet access for granted despite the fact that we were gaming in a basement. The only Savage Worlds material I did have on my harddrive was the Free RPG Day module, “The Wild Hunt.” As I read it over (with my fingers crossed), I realized I might be able to adapt it for the Weird West after all. Instead of the Greyhound bus, my adventurers had hitched a ride on a covered wagon away from Sioux...
